 That so called “Great Rate” Will Steal Merchant’s Holiday Cheer;

Ronnie Lynch, Regional Director with EnablePay

Points Out Pitfalls to Avoid

Retailers who thought they were getting a good deal on their merchant card processing rates may not have so much to cheer about when the holidays come around.  I want to warn merchants to be wary of offers for a ‘better’ discount rate for merchant services. “What many merchants do not know is that pricing merchant services on the basis of discount rates or “buy” rates or qualified rates, conceals the true cost of their service.”   “The bottom line: Paying a percentage—however small—of each transaction processed means that during the holiday season, when sales volume goes up, so does the cost for card processing.”

Merchants looking for true savings and better customer service are encouraged to contact Ronnie Lynch at 1.432.557.3503, email me at rlynch@enablepay.com  or you may fax me your most recent merchant services statement to 1.888.222.6390 for a free no obligation analysis so you can compare and see exactly what type of savings EnablePay can offer.

Typically, card processors collect a percentage on every charge a merchant processes—for the life of the merchant’s contract with that processor. That can result in a windfall profit every holiday at your expense. By contrast, the direct model for merchant services enables merchants to keep more of the money they earn. A direct model merchant services provider, like Enablepay,  charge a flat fixed monthly management fee—based on the nature and processing needs of the merchant’s business—and then simply passes along directly the actual wholesale rates and other actual costs charged by credit card associations. This model cuts out the surcharges and other hidden fees that you have been paying to other card processors.

I would also point out that merchants should question and avoid so-called “annual fees” that are frequently charged in December or January. “Ask your processor what these fees are for, and you are likely to hear a list of items like customer service, the cost of compliance, tech support and maintenance.  WHAT? These items shouldn’t cost you any additional money!!  With a direct merchant services provider these are all a standard part of the single monthly management fee.”  NO ANNUAL FEE
